What We Imagine...

Twelve years ago Doris Viera and Esther Stanton Imagined restoring the State Theatre into a Performing Arts Center. In 2008-09 a dynamic group of APPAC Board members and visionary community volunteers refurbished the current 130 seat "demonstration" theater and launched a music and film series. Currently APPAC continues to present concerts, movies, civic, and community events. The State Theatre is the Auburn home of Placer Community Theatre, Take Note Troupe, Placer Nature Center's "Brain Food" Lecture Series and Auburn Symphony Chamber Players.
What We Imagine now is taking down the wall that divides the 70 foot wide expanse and building a professional stage that looks out over luxurious seats. We Imagine Auburn filled with excitement, anticipation of a thrilling Grand Opening and a rush of memories.
This historic building will be a social and cultural core creating jobs and prosperity. Children will grow up with a place to see professional theater in Auburn, and a place of their own in which to perform. The theater's strategic location between Old Town and Downtown, Hwy 49 and I-80 makes us Imagine busy restaurants, hotels, and shops. Based on APPAC's accomplishments, we Imagine taking the next steps of creating a community performing arts center. Please make an appointment to tour the theater building and experience the excitement.
